The Awake VR

作品簡介：

《The Awake》是一支以漸凍症為靈感，從抽象舞蹈的劇場元素，帶出疾病複雜面向與情感的舞蹈VR。從童話故事般的想像開始，被下詛咒在冰封世界裡的人們，只留下軀殼，卻無法對外交流的訊息；漸凍且失能的身軀，反映出清晰且豐沛的意志。靜止的輪椅、被風吹拂的窗簾、餐桌上的雙人碗筷、小魚缸裡的紅鬥魚、難以入眠的單人床，這些看似平凡日常的物件，逐漸因疾病而消融。影片中舞者以身體感知、肢體動作及話語表現詮釋，具像了漸凍症患者所遭遇的困難、自責與痛苦的內在心境與思緒。內容交錯呈現患者的腦內腦外、過往當下的事件與空間；一切喜怒哀樂、抑或是恐懼、抑或是釋懷，卻分不清何處是真實、何處是虛擬的人生。

The Awake is an immersive dance VR inspired by the lived reality of ALS. Using the metaphor of a frozen curse, it portrays lives trapped within silent bodies. Through abstract movement and theatrical language, dancers embody the inner voices of patients, expressing struggle, guilt, and longing. Everyday objects—a motionless wheelchair, drifting curtains, a dining table for two, a fish in its bowl—gradually dissolve under the weight of illness. As reality and virtuality intertwine, the work unfolds as a poetic journey between fear and release, inviting viewers to confront fragility, resilience, and the unyielding will of life.
